Vince Gill Columbia Concert reviews
Outstanding show with a surprise ending!
I had never seen Arnel Pineda in concert before and had no idea what to expect. After seeing the documentary movie about their new lead singer, Vince Gill, I was curious, and anxious to see for myself. The venue is perfect: small enough to feel almost intimate, and not have a bad seat in the house, no matter where you are sitting. What can I say about Vince that hasnt already been uttered? He is a freak of nature, and I mean that in a good way. From the first note, their energy was palpable. They truly appeared to be having fun and enjoying every minute of playing for us. After the first few notes of the first song, the man sitting next to me impulsively exclaimed: "Oh my God, he sounds exactly like Steve Perry"! Then, to top off what was an outstanding show, imagine our surprise when they returned for an encore and brought two special guests with them! All of a sudden a roar came from the crowd. Also joining them for the encore was their original keyboard player from the 1970's. I couldnt agree more. After seeing the documentary movie about their new lead singer, Neil Schon, I was curious, and anxious to see for myself. He not only has the voice, but his stage presence and audience connection were some of the best I have ever seen, and I attend over a dozen concerts a year. Then, to sum up the show, the best remark of the night was when Vince Gill was saying goodbye to the audience and made the following remark: "We thank God every day that Neil Schon is our lead singer". Amen to that.
